Privacy Policy
Who we are
Lighthouse Christian Radio is a radio station in Milwaukee, WI. Our website address is: https://www.lighthouse.radio
Personal data we collect and why we collect it:
Song votes and listener feedback
When you submit a thumbs-up or thumbs-down vote, we store your choice, the song or broadcast title, artist, album, channel, broadcast time, and the time your vote was created or changed. A randomly generated browser identifier connects your votes without requiring your name or email address. We use this feedback to understand listener preferences and improve programming. Authorized website administrators can view and export these records. You may change your vote for the same airing.
To estimate your city and state, our server sends your IP address over an encrypted connection to ipapi.is. The voting system saves only the resulting city and state and the lookup provider name; it does not save your IP address, an IP-address hash, precise coordinates, or postal code with your vote. These estimates may be inaccurate, particularly when using a VPN or mobile network. Votes can still be saved when location is unavailable. See the ipapi.is privacy policy for the provider’s practices. Hosting and security systems may process IP addresses separately from the voting feature.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact Forms
We collect only the information listed on any and all contact forms on our website. Your information may be used to contact you, but we never share, distribute, sell, or provide your form data to any external party. If you request, we will delete your form data from all of our records.
Cookies
When you use the voting controls, we set a secure browser cookie that lasts up to 90 days to recognize your guest voting session and associate your votes with that browser. Clearing or blocking this cookie may prevent voting or access to your previous guest votes; clearing it does not delete votes already stored on our server. This cookie does not provide cross-device login. Approximate city and state may also be cached on our server for up to 15 minutes to avoid repeated lookups.
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
We are not responsible or affiliated with any data external websites may collect from you.
Analytics
To track user browsing habits on our website and improve our website for you, we gather browsing data through Google Analytics (GA). Analytics data may use pseudonymous identifiers to recognize a browser over time. Collected data may include details such as device, screen resolution, pages browsed, duration of browsed pages, clicks, etc.
Lighthouse websites and apps
This privacy policy applies to Lighthouse Christian Radio’s website and apps, including iOS (iPhone and iPad), Apple TV, Roku, Google TV, and Amazon Fire TV. Features and data collection may vary by platform, app version, and the features you choose to use.
App usage and listening analytics
Lighthouse Christian Radio uses Google Analytics, including Google Analytics for Firebase where implemented, to understand how listeners use our apps and improve reliability and programming. When analytics is enabled in a supported app version, usage information is sent to Google directly or through Lighthouse’s server. This may include app opens, screen activity, live-channel and episode playback starts, listening milestones, channel or episode identifiers, app version, platform, and session information.
Analytics identifiers and your account
Analytics may use a randomly generated installation or app-instance identifier to distinguish usage over time. Such identifiers are pseudonymous: they do not by themselves contain your name or email address, but may recognize the same installation across sessions. Our new Roku and Apple TV listening analytics implementations do not include your name, email address, account credentials, or hardware serial number in listening events, and do not use your Lighthouse account ID to link analytics across devices. Account and cloud-sync information is handled separately, as described below.
Your analytics choices and Kids Mode
Where an app version provides an analytics setting, you can turn off future collection in its Account or Settings screen without affecting playback. In the new Roku and Apple TV implementations, listening analytics is disabled while Kids Mode is active. Available controls and Kids Mode behavior may differ in other platforms or older versions. Turning analytics off does not automatically delete information already collected. Contact us if you need help locating the controls for your app.
Accounts and cloud sync
If you choose to create or sign in to a Lighthouse account in a supported app, our account service processes the information needed to authenticate you and maintain your account, such as your email address and account identifier. Cloud-sync features may store and synchronize favorites, ratings, listening progress, and preferences across devices signed into that account. This information is associated with your account to provide those features; it is separate from the listening analytics described above. You can contact us about access to or deletion of your account information.
Service providers, connection information, and retention
Lighthouse’s hosting, authentication, cloud-sync, analytics, and security providers process information needed to deliver their respective services. Hosting and security systems may process connection information, including IP addresses. Analytics retention depends on the applicable Google Analytics property settings; account and sync information is retained as needed to provide those services and respond to applicable deletion requests, subject to administrative, security, and legal requirements.
Privacy questions
For information about Google’s processing, see Google’s Privacy Policy. For questions about Lighthouse’s apps, privacy controls, or your information, contact lighthouse@shbcmilwaukee.com. This policy explains our practices; it does not replace any consent or permission required for a particular feature.
Who we share your data with
We do not share any information gathered about you to any external party in any method or for any reason, unless specifically stated concerning the particular set(s) of data.
We may store your data for a select period of time and use it internally for church-related purposes. In this case, your data will not be shared publicly within the church.
How long we retain your data
Voting records and their browser identifiers currently remain in our database until manually deleted; no automatic deletion period is configured. You can contact us at the email address below to request access to or deletion of records we can identify as yours. We may need details about your votes to locate guest records, since guest voting does not collect a name or email address.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Other service-provider processing, including the city/state lookup used for voting, is described in the relevant sections above.
How to Contact For Further Questions
If you have further questions about how we collect, store, and use your data through our website, please email us.
Terms of Use
These terms apply to the Lighthouse Christian Radio website and apps, including iPhone, iPad, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Google TV, and Amazon Fire TV. Lighthouse Christian Radio is a ministry of Souls Harbor Baptist Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Listening and accounts
You can listen to live radio and on-demand programs without a Lighthouse account where those features are available. If you create an account to save or sync your library, keep your sign-in credentials and one-time codes private. Programming and features vary by platform and may change over time.
Use of our services and content
Use Lighthouse’s services lawfully and respect the rights of others. Do not attempt to access another listener’s account, bypass security controls, or interfere with the services. Lighthouse and its programming partners retain their respective rights in the broadcasts, recordings, artwork, and other material they provide. Use the built-in sharing and download features where available. For rebroadcasting or other reuse, obtain permission from the applicable rights holder unless the law allows that use.
Privacy and support
The Privacy Policy explains how Lighthouse handles information. For help with the website or apps, email lighthouse@shbcmilwaukee.com or call (414) 231-3009.
