STRONG TO THE END IN HAITI: "I Can't Wait to See Jesus!"

Davy Lloyd was only 23 years old but already had his eyes on eternity. When he and his wife, Natalie, would visit his parents’ home at the mission compound where they all served in Haiti, Davy would often come through the door and say, “I can’t wait to see Jesus!” Little did he know how soon his desire would be fulfilled.

Davy and Natalie were killed, along with Haitian coworker Judes Montis, during a gang attack at the mission compound on May 24, 2024.

David and Alicia Lloyd, Davy’s parents and longtime missionaries to Haiti, join VOM Radio this week to tell the story of that difficult day—and share how God has sustained and comforted them in the two years since. They take comfort knowing Davy wanted to see Jesus more than anything else.

The Lloyds will share the details of what happened during the attack—and how they learned of it from a distance during a trip to the US. They’ll talk about serving in Haiti for 20 years, through ups and downs of stability and security in the country, including the day their young children were kidnapped.

For Davy, Haiti was home. Creole was his first language, and he always wanted to be a missionary. Speaking in churches before their mission service, Davy would often say, “Natalie is going to Haiti as a missionary. I’m just going home!” Though only in their early 20s, both Davy and Natalie were willing to pay any price to serve Christ—even preaching the gospel to the gang members who would take their lives.

You will hear David and Alicia share honestly about their grief and questions they’ve asked the Lord; they’ll also tell how God comforted and renewed their faith as they walked forward in obedience, even in grief.

David and Alicia have written a powerful book, which releases May 5: Strong to the End: The Simple Service and Sudden Sacrifice of the Martyrs in Haiti (affiliate link) tells the story of Davy and Natalie and their mission work in Haiti.

Who we are

Lighthouse Christian Radio is a radio station in Milwaukee, WI. Our website address is: https://www.lighthouse.radio

Personal data we collect and why we collect it:

Song votes and listener feedback

When you submit a thumbs-up or thumbs-down vote, we store your choice, the song or broadcast title, artist, album, channel, broadcast time, and the time your vote was created or changed. A randomly generated browser identifier connects your votes without requiring your name or email address. We use this feedback to understand listener preferences and improve programming. Authorized website administrators can view and export these records. You may change your vote for the same airing.

To estimate your city and state, our server sends your IP address over an encrypted connection to ipapi.is. The voting system saves only the resulting city and state and the lookup provider name; it does not save your IP address, an IP-address hash, precise coordinates, or postal code with your vote. These estimates may be inaccurate, particularly when using a VPN or mobile network. Votes can still be saved when location is unavailable. See the ipapi.is privacy policy for the provider’s practices. Hosting and security systems may process IP addresses separately from the voting feature.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact Forms

We collect only the information listed on any and all contact forms on our website. Your information may be used to contact you, but we never share, distribute, sell, or provide your form data to any external party. If you request, we will delete your form data from all of our records.

Cookies

When you use the voting controls, we set a secure browser cookie that lasts up to 90 days to recognize your guest voting session and associate your votes with that browser. Clearing or blocking this cookie may prevent voting or access to your previous guest votes; clearing it does not delete votes already stored on our server. This cookie does not provide cross-device login. Approximate city and state may also be cached on our server for up to 15 minutes to avoid repeated lookups.

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

We are not responsible or affiliated with any data external websites may collect from you.

Analytics

To track user browsing habits on our website and improve our website for you, we gather browsing data through Google Analytics (GA). Your data is anonymized. The anonymously collected data includes details such as device, screen resolution, pages browsed, duration of browsed pages, clicks, etc.

Who we share your data with

We do not share any information gathered about you to any external party in any method or for any reason, unless specifically stated concerning the particular set(s) of data.

We may store your data for a select period of time and use it internally for church-related purposes. In this case, your data will not be shared publicly within the church.

How long we retain your data

Voting records and their browser identifiers currently remain in our database until manually deleted; no automatic deletion period is configured. You can contact us at the email address below to request access to or deletion of records we can identify as yours. We may need details about your votes to locate guest records, since guest voting does not collect a name or email address.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Other service-provider processing, including the city/state lookup used for voting, is described in the relevant sections above.

60 dBu local 50 dBu distant 40 dBu fringe 3800 S. Howell Ave. antenna

Illustrative 60, 50 and 40 dBu contours calculated with the FCC Coverage API from 3800 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee—the antenna location. The site marker and all three contours use the same address coordinates. For comparison, this estimate retains the earlier reference assumptions of 80 watts and an antenna radiation center of 244.6 meters above sea level; these are not verified antenna specifications for this address. Final coverage depends on the antenna’s actual height and power. Terrain can make the outlines uneven around the antenna. Actual reception varies with buildings, interference and your receiver.
