Dion’s parents’ divorce and his mother takes him to Canada, her homeland. A drunk named Joe moves in and belittles and bullies Dion, who has learned to smoke pot with cousins. Caught shoplifting at 14, Dion is kicked out of his mom’s home at 16. He can’t keep jobs because of his drug use. He’s arrested for armed robbery and is sentenced to a year in prison, then loses his girlfriend. A neighbor gets him to church and Dion prays for salvation at home. He backslides badly because he doesn’t go to church and grow in faith. After seven years the prodigal son returns. Now married and in ministry.
