A Jew, born in Czechoslovakia, Tom’s parents put him on the train to England to escape Hitler’s persecution. He hears the gospel and trusts Christ at age 9. His family dies during the war. He is called to missions at age 16, goes to nurses training and then Bible college in Glasgow. The first part ends as he and his foster “Uncle Jimmie” pray together.
