Kay’s troubled brother causes her anxiety and depression even though her parents are educated and loving. She tries to be perfect but suffers more depression in college until she meets Matt and they marry. She becomes a Special Ed teacher while he’s in Vietnam as a Marine. Afterward, he practices law and they prosper, having two children. When he confesses to fathering a daughter with his secretary, Kay is devastated. A neighbor leads her to Christ, and she leads Matt to the Lord. They begin adopting children, bi-racial and Hispanic—even his illegitimate daughter.
