Louis grows up in a Catholic family. Strict father. He joins the air force after graduation, becomes a medic and serves in Vietnam. Afterward, he meets Sharon, a nurse and an officer. She takes him to church, he feigns salvation and they elope. Then he prays for salvation. When their first son is born, he tells his family he is born again, and his father renounces him. Louis goes to Bible college in Chattanooga where he has adventures pastoring hill people. They endure many personal trials. Still a pastor in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
