When he is three, David’s life is saved by the family dog. His mother takes him to church and he learns about God. He prays for peace after he argues too much as a teenager, and sees his father recover from a heart attack. But he turns away from God, Who doesn’t seem to answer his prayers. He drinks, joins the army, and realizes that God did answer his prayer for peace. But drugs and rock music lure him away again. When a fellow soldier is murdered, David once again is jarred into reality. He marries his girlfriend, gets out of the army and goes home. There he goes to church with his parents and finally surrenders to Christ. Still in the national guard, he witnesses to other soldiers.
