Nathan grows up with a twin brother, a fear of God and a family devoted to religion. Going to parochial school he hears stories of God’s anger but also hears Bible stories read aloud. His anxiety about death causes heart palpitations. Nathan talks to and experiences God at ten, but his faith is not nurtured; and religious rituals, peer pressure and his fears squash his love for God. He drinks in high school, swears to be accepted and takes a job as carpenter after graduation. A friend mentions Revelation, and Nathan reads and becomes convicted of his sin. On the job he cries out to God and finally asks God to save him. His father rejects the gospel but Nathan continues to follow Christ.
