Harry grows up in a family that goes to church but doesn’t know the Lord. Harry has a fascination for electricity and is self-taught. They move to Chicago when Harry is 20, and he works for the Edison company. A co-worker invites him to a Bible conference but there’s no invitation to receive Christ. Harry finally kneels and prays at home. After salvation, he preaches on street corners and at Pacific Garden Mission. He meets Gene and they marry. The first part ends when Harry is asked to be superintendent at PGM.
