Saji grows up in a nominal Christian home with a drunken, abusive father and a mother with mental problems. Anger and fighting seem to be the family’s chief inheritance. His sister is demon possessed at fourteen. Saji persists in getting his education, goes to live with uncle where a teacher talks about Christ. Then he rents a room near the college just prior to his graduation and two evangelists visit him and share the gospel and God’s love. Saji yields his life to Christ. Part 1 ends as his father beats him severely for his conversion.
