Bill grows up with a succession of fathers and a bad attitude. He smokes marijuana at 11, drinks and gets in trouble. Sent to a detention home at 13, he works to straighten up. Can’t graduate, continues to drink and do drugs. He meets Melissa and they live together, then marry. She threatens to leave because of his wild life with accidents caused by drinking. A daughter is born and he still carouses. She leaves him before Christmas. He sees a movie about Christ, reads the Bible and gets saved. Eventually, Melissa returns. Bill is now in Scotland as a missionary.
