As World War II ends, Jesse hopes for better relationship with his father. He starts a produce-hauling business, isn’t satisfied and give the business to family, then goes away to college, wanting to be a coach. Injury ends his dream; he goes to Chicago, is saved at Pacific Garden Mission. He spends the rest of his life in Chicago, running a successful awning business but helping poor young boys learn about Christ. He gives all his time and money to others.
